Seminar on Third Party Financing of disputes

News say that we are on the verge of a recession. Businesses say we will have to tighten our budgets. Experience says that recession leads to more conflicts which end in disputes despite legal budgets getting slashed. Could third party financing offer relief?

Dispute finance offers companies a solution which takes the cost of the dispute off the balance sheet. It has been around for years but is still uncommon in Sweden.
Christine Deniger from Burford Capital (UK) will share her view on the current state of third party financing and Burford’s initiative to help close the gender gap in law. We will then continue with a discussion on a number of practical issues that may arise before and after the case is initiated. Our distinguished panellists are all involved in dispute resolution and will offer different perspectives:

• Nina Macpherson, Board Member of Traton SE and Scania, former Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Ericsson
• Anja Ipp, Legal Counsel at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce
